Well, it's over... The Primary Sacrament Meeting Program. This is our 3rd as a Primary Presidency. For a year, we agonize over this one Sunday. We think about it, we talk about it, we meet about it, we pray about it, we worry about it, we plan for it, we stress over it, and then....it is over. It went well. The kids were great. It is like I always say, "Mormon kids just know how to perform." We didn't do anything spectacular because we were told that it should be the same as any other Sacrament Meeting. Just talks and music. The theme this year was, "I'll Follow Him In Faith", so it wasn't hard to come up with parts for this kids. Ansley and a boy from her class were the narrators. They did a great job. This was Ansley's last Primary Program. Sad. The hard part for us is the dreaded...seating chart. We had 29 more kids than seats this year. Tricky. Every parent wants their kid to be front and center, but it just isn't possible. My favorite part of the program was when they sang the song, "Listen, Listen" a cappella in a round. It was beautiful. Anyway, it is over...until next year. Isn't there some kind of church policy that says a Primary Presidency will be released before doing a 4th program? I am sure there is. There has to be! Just kidding. Love the calling, love the kids, love the Church, love it all!

We decided to take the kids for a little road trip on Sunday. It was General Conference and those of you with little kids know that after the first 3 sessions, it is a fight just to keep everyone in the same room, let alone listen to Conference. So, after the Sunday morning session, we packed a lunch, set the TiVo to record the afternoon session and set out for Springdale, Utah. Springdale is a small town above Hurricane (outside St. George) that is on the edge of Zion National Park. The kids and I had been there before when we picked up my niece, Jen after a bike race, but Kyle had never been. It is small, old, beautiful, little town. The weather was perfect, so we ate lunch in a little park and then let the kids explore. They had a great time and have been talking about it ever since. They can't wait to go again. They are so easily entertained. Who needs Disneyland when you have Springdale?

While we were driving through town on the main street, we came upon a pasture with some huge elk in it and a sign that said you could feed them. We stopped and let the kids feed the elk. There were also buffalo and bulls. The kids were in awe. It was interesting to see the elk up close(and alive...Kyle hunts elk, he doesn't pet them). Springdale...who knew?

It was a very fun day and it makes me wonder why we don't do things like this more often. Life gets to busy, I guess. But my kids were so happy and pleasant that it makes me want to do things like this a lot more often.

The Moon is the only place in our

solar system,

other than the Earth,

where humans have vistited.

Kyle has recently become fascinated (and a little obsessed) with taking pictures of the Moon. We have a new camera that can zoom in on the Moon's surface. Kyle has to set the camera on a tripod and it takes a lot of time and patience to get it zoomed in just right. He is amazed by his new camera and by the Moon. He is getting really good at taking these pictures. I think the pictures are very cool...and I am not just saying that. :)



Interesting Moon facts:

*The Moon is a little lopsided. Its crust is thicker on one side than the other.

*You always see the same side of the Moon from Earth. You would have to go into space to see the other side.

*There is no air to breathe on the Moon.

*The Moon is much smaller than the Earth. However, the pull of its gravity can still affect the Earth's ocean tides.
